The 20-Year-Old Foreign Girl Who Refused to Give Up

Where It All Began For Me

I came to the UK at just 20 years old, completely on my own. No family. No friends. No connections. And such a strong accent that sometimes I was scared people wouldn’t even understand me.

Back then, I didn’t have much, but I had a dream.

I wanted to take my passion for body sculpting and turn it into something bigger. I wanted to help women feel beautiful and confident again. Back home, people knew me as “the little girl with the magic hands.” I had a natural love for sculpting the body.

I loved where I came from, but my hometown was small, and my dreams were bigger. Scared but driven by a massive desire to succeed, I came to the UK.

But…

The Road Nobody Sees

Life gave me a dream before I was ready for it. It didn’t warn me how lonely the road could be, how many doors would close, or how many times I would question myself. It only asked me one thing:

HOW BADLY DO YOU WANT IT?

When I came to the UK, I spent my twenties working two jobs while studying for my VTCT beauty qualification and taking English classes. There were days when I felt exhausted and lonely. Sometimes, I wondered if my dream was too big for a 20-year-old foreign girl with no connections and nobody to fall back on. But I couldn’t go home and say, “I couldn’t do it.”

SO I KEPT GOING.

Build Your Own Door

One client became many. A dream became a successful business. And the girl who struggled to speak English built a name for herself.

To every woman with a dream: if I could do it young, alone, and with very little English, you can too.

Don’t wait until you feel ready. Don’t wait for the perfect opportunity, and don’t wait for someone to open the door for you.

Find the door yourself. And if it’s locked, build your own!
